Bienvenidos a Hawkins, un pequeño pueblo a varios kilómetros de Indiana. Estamos en Agosto del año 1983, donde unos recientes sucesos han cambiado por completo la vida de los habitantes de este tranquilo lugar. Todo comenzó con un apagón, el primero de muchos. Culpaban a la ola de calor del exceso de energía consumida por los ventiladores y aires acondicionados. Toda la noche, eso duró el ultimo de ellos. A los pocos días desapareció un niño, el 6 de Agosto. El cuerpo policial, acostumbrado a la paz que reina en Hawkins no da abasto ante tantas llamadas e informes de varios sujetos sin identificación o procedencia que merodean por el pueblo, careciendo de información y medios para poder hacer frente a semejante panorama. ¿Qué esta pasando?
